What Is My Why?

Attorney Ashley E. Rundell’s extensive experience in family law involves all areas of litigation, including divorce, custody, support, Protection from Abuse (PFA) Orders, adoption, and guardianship matters. Her understanding of complex issues allows her to be an efficient and effective advocate for her clients. In addition, Attorney Rundell’s background in criminal defense assists her in being a vigorous supporter for her client’s needs at all stages of the process.

Attorney Rundell graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2020 with a Certificate in Tax Law. While in law school, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Pittsburgh Tax Review. She was a member of the Mock Trial Team, where she competed and won several competitions, including back-to-back wins of the law school’s Murray S. Love trial competition.

Attorney Rundell was also a member of the Student Bar Association, a Teaching Assistant in Legal Writing and Criminal Law courses, as well as a student representative in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. During her time at Pitt Law, she was the recipient of two awards recognizing her commitment to public service in the legal field.

Attorney Rundell graduated magna cum laude from Widener University where she earned a dual degree in both Political Science and Criminal Justice. She also holds minors in both Legal Studies and Accounting.

Attorney Rundell pursued a career in the legal field due to an overwhelming call to help others. While in law school, Attorney Rundell began as a Certified Legal Intern with Neighborhood Legal Services Association, representing clients in custody and PFA matters. Attorney Rundell completed internships with both the Allegheny County and Philadelphia County District Attorneys’ Offices. Following graduation, she worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Elliot C. Howsie in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, managing dockets in both the Family and Criminal Divisions. Seeing the tremendous emotional and mental toll the legal system could have on some of her clients, Attorney Rundell knew that she wanted to continue her career assisting others in navigating through these tough times. Attorney Rundell has since spent her career in private practice, specializing in all areas of family and criminal defense litigation.

In her practice, Attorney Rundell strives to ensure her clients feel supported and informed throughout all stages of the legal process. She understands the importance legal counsel can play at such a vulnerable time in someone’s life, so she seeks to be a compassionate and empathic representative when clients need it most.

Who Am I Outside Of The Courtroom?

In her free time, Attorney Rundell enjoys spending her time reading, traveling, and spending time with her family (especially her two adorable cats Heinz and Winifred!). She loves to visit the neighborhoods of Pittsburgh to try new restaurants and loves attending local shows in the Cultural District downtown. Attorney Rundell is also extremely involved in her local community, where she helps victims of abuse. She was identified as a 2022 Pittsburgh 50 Finest Honoree by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, which annually recognizes local young professionals committed to helping others while excelling in their field
